Earthworm Industries, Inc. is the result of a need to resolve a practical problem faced by its founder, Murray L. Deutchman. He had a small farm and needed to perform regular maintenance functions around the farm, such as fixing fences and trimming trees. The small and medium-sized tools needed for these ordinary functions were awkward to transport on the riding mower. Using a pull cart was unwieldy, and frequently it was difficult to maneuver in tight spots. Carrying the tools in his hands left him with one hand to operate and maneuver the riding mower, an unwieldy and unsafe condition.
Murray checked out the local farm and garden outlets and was told that no tool carrier was available for riding mowers. He prepared a design which became the MowerBuddy
TM, a convenient, practical and safe solution to the problem. Judy Stone, Earthworm's vice-president, a respected and experienced graphic designer, was consulted for assistance in preparing the final design.
Earthworm has a number of other products coming up, each conceived and developed as a solution to a real problem encountered in everyday life.
